The scrapping date is as given in "The World's Worst Aircraft" by Bill Yenne, Dorset Press, ISBN 0-88029-490-6. I recalled the XP-87 was in it and it was within arms reach. There's no mention of how complete the second of type was, only that it was taken for spares when the program was halted Oct 14 1948. Oh, BTW, where did you get your pictures? John
